I try to record some of my games, such as Diablo III, DayZ and Planetside 2, where the gameplay can be pretty intense at times. I often end up having 3-4hr sessions and equal length videos. Lots of standard, uninteresting gameplay, and few intense highlights.
I'd love to create 10-15 minute clips of the highlights of these sessions, especially in multiplayer where I play with friends. I almost always loose track of that one special kill, a killing streak, or any other bits of interesting gameplay. Is there a way to keep track of these things as they happen, without having to re-watch the entire video?
I am using DXtory and FFsplit as capturing / recording software.
Could be a tip or technique, mobile app, keyboard macro or annotator, anything that allows me to easily find interesting bits of footage in those marathon recording sessions. Thanks!
If you have an nVidia GeForce GTX 650 or better graphics card, you can use their new ShadowPlay recording software, which is currently in beta.
Instead of sifting through all of your footage, you can set ShadowPlay to "shadow" you for a specific amount of time, from 1 to 20 minutes. Just start playing, and whenever you want to, just hit the shadow record button and the last 2 (or whatever you set) minutes will be saved to disk. There is a manual recording option to just record everything as well.
As for audio recording, you have the option to record: "in-game audio" (which includes any other sounds, like Steam notifications, Skype call, TeamSpeak, Mumble, etc.) and/or your microphone as well.
If you use windowed or borderless windowed mode when you play games, you will need to switch to fullscreen, as ShadowPlay does not support those (yet).

I'm trying to get the camera to change while excuting a loop. In previous Trackmania games (such as Nations) you would create a ghost file (the track is now haunted), within the ghost recording you would set a trigger at the beginning of loop, set the camera (to internal), and create a second trigger at the end of the loop to set the camera back to default. In Trackmania 2 I've created the ghost file and added the triggers, when I replay the ghost file, the camera switches like I expect, however, when I validate the track, the triggers do not fire, and the camera never changes. What am I
Anyone know where I can get some useable audio clips from Red Alert aside from recording them directly from the game? (I'd like to have a "construction complete" quote play after a visual studio build completes.)
I used to record gameplay of Lord of the Rings Online one year ago and everything worked fine. Now I tried to record gameplay again, but only video is captured. The ingame sound is not recorded. Has anyone an idea why the ingame sound is not recorded? I can record sound from other games (Neverwinter e.g.). Fraps Version: 3.5.99 Sound card: ASUS Xonar DGX I tried different settings in the game concerning the sound options and I also tried different recording programs (Bandicam, Camtasia, MSI Afterburner) but the result was the same. I cannot capture the ingame sound of Lord of the Rings
My apologies if I mess up the terminology; I am overwhelmed by Battlefield 3's lingo, simplified as it may be. In the mission Going Hunting, I am the gunner and flare-dumper of a plane being flown by another guy. It's a pretty interesting and intense experience where it feels like a single second of hesitation might lead to a firey explosive death. Fun! My plane has two weapons: a machine gun... is the machine gun. Maybe it's because I'm playing on Low Quality settings, but I can barely see the bullets fly out of my plane, let alone connect any with my enemies. I get them in my sights
I can find plenty of information on recording programs for Windows, but information for OSX is much harder to find. What programs are available for recording gameplay on a Mac?
When you die, you have an option to either Retry or Quit. Quitting allows you to access the shop, where you can spend your star bits in the upgrade shop. If I choose to Retry, rather than Quit, do I get to keep the star bits I earned on the run I just failed? Or do I just start over normally? I'm mostly wondering because unless my star bit count is carried over, I don't see why I would ever want to Retry without spending what I have earned in the store.
Is there a way to look at the cards/stars that have been collected already? I know that guy in town will tell you where one of the cards and stars yet to be found are hidden, but I would like to know which cards I do have. I could keep having duels but that seems random and unreliable.
I have been playing around with the visual presentation settings to my personal preference... but I can't seem to change the camera view that is shown when I put the ball ( the action of the ball rolling to the hole ). The camera seems to be random but from my experiences, the camera angle is shown from where the fans are standing (next to the green) - which IMHO ruins the intense/thrilling part of the putt. How can I change this angle to be shown of more from an eagle's eye or above the ball view ? I will try to post a picture of what I am talking about soon.
How to show to another player in party (during online/LAN sessions) items from the inventory/stash?
