I've had an Ace of Spades server I can play on with my friends, but I'm new to the Pysnip servers and such. How do I change the spawn point of players? I've just loaded up the Nuketown map, but it seems all the players spawn in the water and die. This happens with both Nuketown and Nuketown 1.4.
P.S. I can just turn water damage off, but then the players have to swim back to the island every time.
I have a small public vanilla minecraft survival server, and I've decided to build a structure by the spawn point and increase spawn-protection within the server.properties files to prevent it from being griefed. How can I find the exact coordinates of the centre of the spawnpoint. I understand from the minecraft wiki page, that the spawn point will be within a few hundred units away from the map origin (0,0), but as I'm only looking to protect a small area around the spawn point (say 128 blocks), I want to find the exact centre so I know where I should start building? Alternatively, can I
the spawn point by a few blocks, but I'm not sure... I've also mined the area I suffocated in, hoping that if I ever spawned there again I would just be in an empty square, but the blocks always respawn...In the MC server I'm in, every player experiences a spawn issue; players spawn in the ground and start to suffocate. After a second or so you then spawn where you would normally spawn. The length of time in the ground depends on the connectivity to the server (the laggier the server, the longer you suffocate). When you're low HP and you teleport home, suffocation can kill you and I noticed
I have a Minecraft server I've just started for a few friends. We're playing on hard, and I'm going to set it up so that players spawn with a few minimal items to get them going. Some of them jumped in briefly and logged out after less than 5 minutes last night. How do I reset their progress so that when next they log in, they spawn as if they have never logged in before and have the items I set new players to spawn with? I.E., how do I make the server forget that they were ever there?
One day I went on my Hamachi server and it's the wrong map terrain & the spawn point had changed. Minecraft Server.exe keeps saying: [WARNING] Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? I haven't exceeded 600 blocks, and I have enough RAM for 20 players on at a time (1GB RAM). Only 2 people have played on at a time, and 3 total players have played on the original world. What happened, and how do I get the map the way it used to be?
difficulty=1 gamemode=0 max-players=20 rcon.port=25575 spawn-monsters=true generate-structures=true view-distance=10 motd=A Minecraft Server And I'm also wondering, how can I make myself the admin...I recently created a Craftbukkit server on my PC. I wanted to login and build some stuff on it but whenever I try to login it just says: Connection lost, failed login: bad login I don't know what is wrong with it, I've tried every possible way I found on the net, for example, I tried to connect using localhost, my PC's IP address (with and without the port:25565) but nothing changes. I use
Is it possible for me to check what difficulty level is current set to on a vanilla (or almost vanilla) minecraft server? I do have my own server, and I know I can simply check the server.properties file and restart the server, but is there a way any other players (standard players or OPs) can check the current setting being used on a server? For example, say another OP changes the difficulty with the /difficulty command, how can I easily check this? I know I could search through the console output, but this isn't too easy with the server that I rent, and could other players determine
I can see that there's a decay rate server variable here, but I can't find anywhere on the internet how the values work. Will 0 disable it? How do I make it really slow? or really fast? Can I just change the value and then run the save.all command?
Using Minecraft 1.3, a single player map can be opened up for LAN play. How do you change where other players will spawn? I know how to change my own spawn point (by using a bed), but how can I change where other players on the LAN will spawn when they join in? The original place I spawned in this world is a very long walk from where I am now, and my wife wants to join in without having to walk the whole way there.
I've run into a headache setting up a Minecraft server (using the FTB modpack). Having set up a sweet open air spawn-jail and moved the spawn point into it (using MCedit), I started hitting things...-protection seems to be entirely disabled for non-op players, which I thought wasn't possible! Changing it back to spawn-protection=16 doesn't restore spawn protection either. Why isn't spawn-protection working on my server? Details and proactively answering likely questions: The spawn protection was absolutely working before I messed with the server.properties file. I have restarted the server
