I just finished updating my 3DS to the new 7.0.0-13 update, which adds the Miiverse to the 3DS and finally combines the funds of both Wii U and 3DS e-shops.
Right now, my 3DS is giving me the choice between two Miis to represent my person on the Miiverse:
Personal Mii for this [3DS] system
The Mii currently linked to this Nintendo Network ID
I guess, if I choose the 3DS Mii, my Mii will change on my Wii U as well, due to the Miiverse being an integral part of the Wii U.
But what if I choose the Wii U's Mii? Will my Streetpass Mii change? Will I lose saves?
I found a fairly interesting piece of info on this site, the site's comment section to be specific.

there is an oversight with the update, i just lost my wii sports club save. you need to overwrite either your NNID or 3ds system mii.
the problem is both of these miis potentially have save game data linked to them. i know of various 3ds titles that have this, so i didn't want to overwrite that one. i booted up my wii U and bang my profile was wiped. there will be more people losing mii-linked save game data after doing this.

@sleepinglion only if you chose to replace your existing NNID mii with your 3ds system one, which was the first option. mine were both the same with the same name, but clearly save games linked to them differentiate, at least on the wii U side.
Unfortunately, this only describes what could happen if you choose to replace your existing Mii with your 3DS' Mii, but not what could happen if you choose to keep your existing Miiverse Mii.
I'm especially worried about how Streetpass and Miiverse coexist, since I don't want to use the same Mii on both.
Somehow, I had one version of my Mii on my Wii, and one version on my 3DS. When configuring my Wii U, I used the 3DS version, since that was the only one I could import on initial setup. After importing Miis and save data from my Wii, I then deleted the duplicate version of my Mii that had been copied from the Wii out of the Wii U's Mii storage. However, I noticed now that when I boot up Super Mario Galaxy 2 on my Wii U, my save file just shows Mario, not my Mii. Did I accidentally delete my Mii (and thus any Wii Sports save data and any other Wii save data that requires a Mii) from my Wii
On my Wii, I have a button in my Mii Channel to transfer a Mii to and from my Wii remote, as seen in this tutorial. On the Wii Channel of my Wii U, I don't have that button. I've also tried to connect my 3DS using the shortcut (A + B + 1 + 2), which works, but you can't transfer from the handheld to the console, only the other way around. I do not want to do a whole Wii data transfer. Am I stuck making Miis from scratch on the Wii Channel?
I can't seem to connect my pokemon x game to my network, even though I have tried using both my guest network and my secure network. Both of them are WPA secured (I believe, I can't check right now, but will as soon as possible), but I was able to connect and receive the Torchic promo gift on my pokemon y game. I have attempted using a 3DS that had been broken (only the lower half of the top screen, so I just replicated my actions to attempt to connect, and I could still see the error message), but that refused to connect also. Both 3DS can connect to the network and use the Internet browser
I recently got a 3DS, and immediately set it up, including my Mii, the Streetpass Plaza, and Streetpass. I found one Mii, but after that, nothing. For example, I went to my brother's house and his 3DS found my Mii, but I couldn't get his. I also ran into a friend at dinner. Her's found me, but yet again I couldn't get her. I know it's not their systems being wonky as I have seen others pick up their Miis with no issues. My system and plaza and such have all been updated and I double checked to make sure that no parental controls are getting in the way. I'm not sure what's wrong with my
not be helpful as an edit. The Unity forums, which is a clone of a stack exchange site, offers little help to people with issues. Update I removed the log files I had previously uploaded here. One was the from when I attempted... anyone know what is causing the problem? Has anyone figured out a work around? want to keep your old games from console to console, you need to do a system transfer. To be fair, the store I traded my game in didn't mention this, but I'll try not to place the blame on anyone... my console's eShop Account Activity and (after a 10 minute system update) my past purchases were all there (including my credit card information which is just a bit frightening) so I tried performing.... UPDATE #4: Went back in the store today after waiting ~20 minutes for the system transfer, all my previous account activity is no on my new 3DS, happy days! So I guess as long as the store has your old
/missing in one version? Any game mechanics differences? E.g. does the save system work the same? Any performance differences? Is one version running more smoothly? Any online social differences?
