How to change player name in minecraft multiplayer in offline mode in Linux?
I installed some mods for Minecraft recently, and because of this I can only run the game using the EXE. But the problem with that is I can no longer use the old .bat trick and create a script to change my name. How can I change my name using the command-line of the Minecraft.exe?

I'm looking for a batch command which allows you to change name on an "online-mode=false" Minecraft server. I have tried these commands and lots of others: java -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -cp "%APPDATA...\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.exe" I have Windows 7 x64 with Java 7 (build 1.7.0_02-b13, should be a 64-bit version). Edit: I'm running the latest minecraft unmodded. Btw found this "Client version 1.2.2 does not accept the command line arguments that previous versions accepted." so if anyone can get a command that works on a Client version 1.2.2 or later please post your command line here.
Possible Duplicate: Why does it say “that player is offline” when that player is most certainly online? My friends are telling me that I appear as "offline" in their friends lists while playing Diablo 3. I can join up with them, quest with them, trade with them, talk to them, and I am most definitely online. I opened up my social window and the icon in the top left shows that I'm "offline" or gray icon. So I switch it to the "online" or green icon. This does nothing, as each time I open the social window, it's back to "offline". Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
Possible Duplicate: How do I recover a lost Borderlands 2 game? I started a single player game with 'assassin' and levelled up to 13. I then selected new game and began a multiplayer with a friend, both with my original name 1-Jebadeeoo 2- Jebadeedoo(1). I saved and quit this mission. My original single player game with assassin level 13 has disappeared and is no longer accessible, and although the saved game still shows up in the 'saved game utility' on the PlayStation home menu I cannot access it in the game. Can you tell me how I can access this game file, as the only game I
I wanted to run Minecraft and tell it to use more RAM than whatever its default is, the purpose was to decrease loading times when entering new biomes and the like. I saw, when using the name...="%APPDATA%.minecraft\bin\natives" net.minecraft.client.Minecraft "yournamehere" However, I wanted a command that allowed me to change the maximum memory, without skipping the login process. I searched... -Dsun.java2d.opengl=false -Xms2048M -Xmx2048M -jar "C:\Users\Ender\Desktop\Minecraft.exe" When I run it, my Minecraft.exe file runs properly (it seems) and I can login (or attempt to anyway if my

I recently purchased Rome Total War: Gold via the Mac App Store on OS X Lion. I have had a lot of fun playing the single player campaign. However, when I try to access multiplayer to battle against my friends by going to Multiplayer → LAN Battles, I get to enter my player name, but after that the game freezes for a short while and an error appears: Failed to connect to LAN The error occurs in the normal version as well as in Barbarian Invasion. My friend (on a Windows machine) does get into the lobby after entering his player name. I disabled all and any firewalls and antivirus
I’m playing Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II (GameCube) with a friend in offline multiplayer mode (split screen). Unfortunately our area progress is not saved. So even when we finish Forest’s end boss, Cave is only available in this very same session. When we save the game and play again next time, we can’t start in Cave. This was the case in PSO’s online mode, too. At least one player had to finish Forest in single-player mode so that a online party could start in Cave immediately. So I assume this is the case in the offline multiplayer mode, too. I wonder: Is there any trick
