Where can I safely store my stuff?

I don't have a house yet in Skyrim. If I leave my junk in a chest in a dungeon, will it remain there indefinitely? Will it disappear at some point?

  • Your items are not safe - I believe it takes less than 48 in-game hours until the items disappear. The good part is they allow you to start off with a good amount of space in your inventory to hold everything.

    Hope that answers your question.

  • Possible Duplicate: Can followers be used to keep stolen items from “the law”? I'm asking this because I started a new game to get stuff done that I didn't do before and I'm about to join the thieves' guild. For the starting quest I remember getting pinched for stealing something. I finished the quest for the Golden Claw and stole it back but I don't have anywhere to stash it. To stop it from getting taken when I get arrested, I was wondering if I could leave it on my follower and have it not be taken?

  • Possible Duplicate: Can I safely sell everything marked as “Treasure”? By the name of the item it sounds like some health restoring item, but attempting to select it in the items menu does nothing. Then again, it's the only item I've ever had so far, so I can't tell if I'm doing it wrong anyway. Aira will buy it for 2.5k pixes and the item is described as a treasure, but can this item do more than just that?

  • Possible Duplicate: Where can I safely store my stuff? How can I find a lost item? I thought that the College dorm room was a "safe stash" area. I put all of my spare potions and ingredients in the right most barrel in the cluster of three barrels in the back of the room. Not only that but the entire room was reset and everything I took was replaced. I've read that barrels and rooms... the HELL do I prevent this from happening again aside from entering my room once per day? Thanks!

  • Possible Duplicate: Does the Vita's backwards compatibility with PSP games extend to PS1 games? Amazon's description of the PS Vita states: Vita can play PSP titles, minis, PS one classics, video and comics from the PlayStation Store However, when I log into my PSN account on my new Vita, go to the store and my download history, for Final Fantasy IX it says: Cannot download using a PS Vita system Is Amazon's description incorrect, or is there some workaround for this?

  • In Viscera Cleanup Detail for Shadow Warrior, you have a lot of body parts and other stuff lying around. When you step into blood, you gonna leave bloody footsteps behind. After a while, your mob... out To clean your mob it seems you have to run forth and back to the little pool in the entrance area if I see that correctly. What is the best strategy to clean the place up? How do you start out and what can I do to avoid new blood splatter?

I'm about to leave the college in Winterhold to find out more info on the Elder Scrolls, but I'm only level 10. Maybe a better question would be, what all effects leveling up? Does killing enemies gain XP or just when you improve a skill? I die way to often, even in simple fights and I feel like I'm missing something important. Also, is there a place I can store my extra items that I'm carrying? I'm constantly over 200-250 in my carry weight

  • Is it safe to store my weapons in the chest at High Hrothgar? Not for too long, though. Just long enough to sell off my Dragon Bones and Dragon Scales. I want to store my weapons there because with their weight added to the Bones and scales, I can't fast travel. And if you say a house is best, well, I'm selling the bones and scales so I can BUY a house later on. But please let me know of any safe places readily available until I can afford a house. Thank you.

  • Just got this game. I accidently selected "break it" when inspecting the materials chest, thinking I could get my lumber and stone from inside. Turns out, instead of re-appearing when exiting the screen and coming back, it's gone. I can't seem to find another store that carries it. The general store, weapons, medicine, and food don't seem to have any "chests" of these kind. Where can I get another one? Is my best hope restarting all over again?
