I just wanted to know if the bonuses translated to dual-wielding as well, or is it pointless to even get if you aren't going to only use one weapon at a time?
The perks that do not apply specifically to dual wielding apply to attacks made with two (2) one-handed weapons, one (1) one-handed weapon and/or one (1) one-handed weapon and one (1) shield. The dual wielding perks give those fighting with two weapons additional bonuses to compensate for the lack of defensive shields/magic. Two weapon fighting is all out offense and receives all of the benefits from the other perks found in the one-handed tree.
The only "exception" to this might be Critical Charge as I seem to attack with only one of the two weapons I have equipped. It gives you a nice movement and damage bonus though, so I still think it is worth taking as a two weapon fighter.
Side note: I highly recommend taking this perk because the decapitate animation is both cool and satisfying.
Possible Duplicate: How is listed DPS calculated when dual-wielding weapons? I've read somewhere in-game ( i don't remember where exactly though) that when dual-wielding, attack speed differs when you're using incompatible items or something? So does it matter if I equip a one-handed spear and a fist vs 2 spears and 2 fists? Also, do they need to have the same attack speed?

How does a Quiver with those stats increase my total damage when it replaces a one handed crossbow (in my offhand) that has 292.6 damage? In the one handed weapon perk tree, there are perks that make dual wielding more effective. Will the bonuses from these perks apply when I am using a weapon in one hand and a spell in the other?

In Torchlight you can wield any two one-handed weapons. There is a Dual Wielding talent that adds damage when wielding two weapons, but what happens when dual wielding without the talent? Does it simply alternate back and forth? If the weapons are exactly the same, is there any DPS benefit? How does it work with one melee and one ranged weapon?
While dual-wielding, you gain a 15% chance to dodge incoming attacks. While using a two-handed weapon, all Spirit generation is increased by 25%. Does the 25% bonus only apply to Spirit generated from attacks, or does it also increase Spirit per second from gear and mantras by 25%?
In a comment on Is it possible to use a shield in one hand and magic in the other?, switching the controls for left arm to left mouse button (and right arm to right mouse button) was mentioned. I think this makes the dual-wielding system much more intuitive - however, I desperately don't want to have to left click to block and right click to attack (or right click to shoot my bow, left click to melee with it, etc). I didn't see anything in the settings to alter mappings for dual wielding only - is there any way to do this?

If I equip a dagger in my mainhand (1.31 APS) and then an axe in my offhand (1.30 APS) my attacks per second go up to 1.51. Makes sense based on this guide. However, when I unequip both weapons, then equip the axe in my offhand first, then the dagger in my mainhand, my attacks per second drops to 1.28. These are the same weapons equipped in the same slots, just in a different order. The same thing happens if I switch it up and do Axe mainhand, Dagger offhand. Why the difference? EDIT: I have
