I realize the answers to this may differ depending on which platform the game is being played on. I'm interested in the Xbox 360 version myself, but if people know for the other platforms, feel free to answer.
I'm pretty sure online co-op exists, but is there couch co-op where multiple people play on the same system? Is there system link co-op where you can connect with other people on the same network outside of Xbox Live?
Additionally, if there are multiple ways to engage in co-op play, do the types of co-op play available vary depend on which method is utilized? ie. Campaign co-op is only available through xbox live, but you can run around with a friend blowing stuff up in couch co-op.
There is no offline/couch co-op. Online co-op and system link co-op exists for 2 players with both having the same functionality.
The whole campaign and everything else in the game is playable in co-op mode, with drop in/drop out possibility.
You're required to use an online pass code on your account to activate co-op mode on either the PS3 or Xbox 360.
Possible Duplicate: Can we play Portal 2 co-op on one iMac? According to this article and this steam forum thread, it's possible to set up a split-screen co-op in Portal 2 on the PC. To clarify: This is having 2 people on one PC with the same steam instance of Portal 2 both controlling their own character in the co-op campaign mode of the game. It's not supported out of the box... seems to work for most people, but not in all circumstances. There seem to be a lot of other threads in the wild with many different solutions. I figured G.SE would be a good place to post all
The available multiplayer modes for two players are either eradicating each other or gaining the most resources within one hour. Kind of boring after a while... Is it possible to play co-op against the dark-tribe instead? Maybe simply the campain sharing the same people?
. I'm just wondering if MS has some kind of validation when you connect that doesn't let you connect if your ping comes back slower than x, NO XBOX LIVE FOR YOU! Does anyone know if there is a built in check like this and if so, what the magic number is? IMPORTANT: Before you say it, I am completely aware that co-op gaming with such lousy ping times is going to be a fruitless effort. The only...I have had continuing and intermittent problems connecting to XBOX live using my wireless network. It connects fine to the network on the diagnostics screen, but frequently has trouble making
I will buy a XBOX 360 FPS game for my brother for Christmas. Because we play oft together, I would like to buy a FPS which supports co-op offline playing. We have had a lot of fun with COD MW2, COD World At War (a little bit frustrating that it didn't save our progress in co-op mode though). I am looking into a series of lists, but the problem is that they always consider online co-op, which is not what we want. Do you know any lists of Xbox 360 FPS games with offline co-op mode?
Being the achievement whore that I am, and knowing that others out there are as well, I thought it'd be good to have a centralized place where you can see what you have to do to get them all. Single... the Excursion Funnel Dual Pit Experiment - Do the same test twice The Part Where He Kills You - This is that part Lunacy - That just happened Optional Achievements You actually have to earn... her here; Ch. 7 Smash TV - Break 11 test chamber monitors - You know what he's got too many of? Monitors! Loads of 'em Co-Op Achievements Completion Achievements You will get these achievements
I've got some "friends" on my Xbox Live friends list who aren't really that - they're people I rarely play with and who are more "friends of friends." Unfortunately, the friends list pings me every time they're online or doing something (ie, they start playing the game I'm playing) which is kind of inconvenient. I'm considering removing them, but I don't want to "cause a scene" and offend them (or my other friends) by removing them. What happens when I remove an Xbox Live friend? Do they get a notification? Does anything change from their perspective?
While I and a friend are playing respectively Mass effect on PC and on Xbox, I was wondering if there was any way to play the same co-op game, or if the 3 platforms get totally separated in the multy?
I've been googling quite a bit and can't find anything definitive. Does NBA 2K12 allow co-op play online? My friend and I want to play on the same team but not have to be in the same house together. If it does, which modes support it?
the hardest mode available is then "Easy". Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is this intentional or (better) documented? I can't rule out the possibility that you can only get these achievements via...I have the full sc2 and I'm playing with someone who's using the starter edition. I know the starter edition can't use "Find match" in "Play cooperative" to find players via matchmaking. If I create a custom game (I chose Discord IV -- one of the three starter edition four player co-op maps) and set category to "Co-op VS AI" and mode to "Medium" and invite the starter-edition-user then it all
