You can collect three Star Coins in each level. What is their purpose?
Collecting all three star coins on every level in a particular world opens up a corresponding secret level in the correspondingly secret World 9.
You need to collect every star coin from all nine worlds to achieve the second and third of the five save file stars, which indicate how much of the game you have completed.
You could also use them to buy hint movies in peach's castle (at the complete left of world 1).
They show certain secrets, such as the location of a secret goal or how to gain infinite 1-ups.
The existence of Star Coins serves for many useful purposes, such as buying hints and movies in the castle, getting more points, etc.
I've got all star coins (including World 9) but not all the movies from the castle are available. What should I do to enable them?
I'm trying to get all the star coins in Super Mario 3D Land, but I'm unable to find the second star coin in level 3 of Special World 2. Where is the second star coin located in the level S2-3?
Every Mystery Box has the potential to reward you with a Star Coin (most require you to kill an enemy or two first). If I keep meeting people through Street Pass, or doing whatever else spawns Mystery Boxes on the World Map, can I essentially farm Star Coins this way? I want to make sure I have as many Star Coins as possible so that I can use them to unlock things as the game progresses.
After using the Red Star Power in the "Gate" universe and collection all 100 purple coins, you get a new power star and then there are a few red star power pickups around the observatory. Is there any reason for this other than another method of travel around the observatory, or are they required to find some secret area?
I'm playing Gun Bros on my Android phone and I'm at level 13 with ~4300 coins. And I have no idea what upgrades I should get to make more progress. Should I hoard coins until I can buy the more heavy guns at 10k+ coins or should I get one of the 3k ones? Because it would be easier to get more coins with a better weapon? And what guns would probably be best for progressing as fast as possible? I can go for high DMG or high RPM, should I prefer one of the other at lower levels?
I am trying to farm Star Coins to unlock the Special World levels, and I noticed that sometimes, I get Mystery Boxes that I have already seen. I cannot get another Star Coin from them (the Star Coin in the box is transparent, and if I collect it, I get 3 regular coins instead). How many unique Mystery Boxes are there? I am assuming there is a finite number, otherwise I would get a new Star Coin every time.
Does anyone know how my opponent can award 7 coins for guessing correctly? The most I can select for their turn is 3 coins. How do they award seven coins for a single turn?
I have obtained over 50,000 coins and now have an option to "Double Coins". What does this do?
have me stumped. One is a bag of coins, and the other one is a bag of coins with a timer. I assume the latter one has something to do with completing the level quickly, but what about the bag of coins star? It might have something to do with collecting treasure or coins in a level, but then again, some of the early levels don't seem to have treasure in them - so how would I get that star? Am I right in my assumptions? If so, how do I get these stars?
In Plants vs Zombies 1, you used coins to purchase new plants, upgrades and the like, whereas Plants vs Zombies 2 appears to only use real money in its store. Instead, as far as I can tell by going through the first bit of the game, coins are only used for Plant Food and Power-Ups. Are coins used for anything else during the rest of the game, or can I safely use my coins on Plant Food and Power-Ups instead of hoarding them?
