I just bought a new Xbox 360 slim. How can I transfer ALL the data from the old Xbox to the New one?

What about downloaded content that I paid for? Can I re-download it?

  • Downloadable content should be able to be redownloaded at will, so you shouldn't have any issues there.

For your other content, such as saved games, movies, etc., you have a couple of options:

    1. The XBox 360 hard drive transfer kit, if you have one around.
    2. If the content is sufficiently small, you can use memory cards, manually moving the data onto the cards, then onto the target XBox.
    3. If the content is larger, you can use up to 16GB of USB-based memory now. So a 16GB flash drive can be recognized for store-purchased, as well as in-game (saves, etc.), data.

Once the data is transferred, you will also want to transfer your licenses for content. Instructions are available on the xbox 360 site.

  • you can download profile using xbox live in profile switch menu.

  • I learned that you could transfer a PC Skyrim save to Xbox 360 by simply changing the .ess extension to .dat then put the dat file inside the game shell using Modio. When I do that and try to load the transferred save the 360 says the disc needs to be cleaned. This only happens when I try to load the modded saves – if I create a new game all is fine. When I change the extension I simply rename filename.ess to filename.dat via right-clicking – am I doing something wrong? the only issue i can immediately see... is the characters names were different

  • I just bought Shadowrun from Games for Windows, and I've had this game for Xbox 360 for a long time now. I'm trying to get the achievement for playing 100 matches as each class and I was wondering if I had to play all 100 matches again on the PC or if a server keeps track of my previous amount of playtime from when I played it on the Xbox 360? Shadowrun is one of the few games where PC and Xbox 360 user can play cross-platform, so I can hope the stats transfer between the two.

  • I need some enlightenment here. I owned my PS3 like 2 years ago, but it was broken, I can't turn it on. So I bought a 2nd hand PS3 from a different person. My old PS3 has all the saved data and there is one downloaded game in it. I have searched on the Net on how to transfer saved games and all, but all requires the other PS3 to be still functional and mine doesn't work anymore. I heard placing the hard disk drive on the new PS3 won't work either since they are encrypted and if I want to use it, I have to format it? I need clarification here and I'd love to know if there are any other ways
