How can I host my own Minecraft server?
Me and my friend want to join a server together with no other people, do you now how we can do that? Cause I have tried joining multiplayer servers, but other people are always there.
Possible Duplicate: Why isn't my Minecraft LAN server working? When we click 'Open To LAN' it gives us an ip address but when we use that to Direct Connect it doesn't work. We've also let the "Searching for LAN worlds" sit there for an hour and nothing happened. I'm not the best with computers but I do know a decent amount of stuff. Our internet is also NOT the best(ping, upload speeds, etc.) Is there anything we can do to fix it? my friend has a multiplayer server for 1.7.2 , everyone can join except me, minecraft wont find his server but other people find the server is there anyway to fix this? help me please
I made a server on Minecraft Forum (because it was easier) and it said: To finish claiming this server, set this token token removed somewhere in your server's MoTD. Every time I make a server and she joins, it disconnects after a while or just as she joins. We are both using the same WiFi. I downloaded minecraft_server.jar from here, and made run.bat which content is java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui. It runs well, I can connect with typing my IP, but my friend (Windows Vista - 32bit) couldn't connect to my server, even though he can connect to my Apache web server. (not the connection problem) We had this problem months ago, and somebody told us the 32bit side (my friend) should open the server, and it worked. I'm trying to play Civilization V with my brother (who is on my network) and my friend (who is not on my network). I host a private internet game, enable 3 AI players, and invite them to the game. My brother can join without a problem, but when my friend joins it tells him that I disconnected (I still see him in the list but I do not receive his chat messages), even though I can still talk to my brother. Why cant my friend join my lan world i go to the menu in minecraft click lan then set it up then in the chat screen comes up with the host name some numbers example (52642) my friend types that in to join but it tells him the Connection Failed can someone help me and answer this question how does he join?
