Given that increasing your attack speed increases your DPS, do other skills take advantage of this higher DPS?
I thought they did, but I noticed that the speed increase from the Frenzy skill doesn't affect the Damage item shown in the character menu. So now I'm not sure. If I accumulate 5 Frenzy, and then perform a different special attack (e.g. Hammer of the Ancients), will it deal more damage than without the Frenzy?
Attack speed does not increase the damage of your abilities (normally, it may have some effect on cooldown skills), but what it does do is decrease the animation times for your abilities. (And for the record, it should also increase the Damage stat on the character pane)
And the frenzy stacks definitely decrease the animation times.
The underlying problem, I believe, is more generally that the Damage value in the character pane doesn't take into account the fury stacks (I assume because of their brief length), but if you expand the pane to show weapon speed, you will see that you do have the increased speed represented there.
Possible Duplicate: Are attack speed bonuses factored into the DPS figures? Consider you have 3 different weapons 1000 dps with + elemental damage 1000 dps with +x% damage 1000 dps with +x attack speed If I understand correctly, the + damage and + elemental damage stats are incorporated into the weapons dps. How does the attack speed work? surely any weapon with attack speed is far preferable (assuming similar dps). Does + attack speed even affect the weapons dps (as shown)? To clarify, +% damage and + elemental damage only affect the weapons raw damage (i.e 500-1000

Does the "Attack Speed" include the 15
I've noticed how 2-hand and 1-hand weapons can have the same DPS, but very different attack speed making attacks per second more or less frequent. Hatred generation skills' descriptions don't say if you get n hatred per hit or at 1x attack speed rate and I couldn't get any weapons with different enough APS rates to conclusively measure the hatred generation rate, but I suspect that affects it. Does attack speed (attacks per second) affect how much hatred you can generate?
According to Are +maximum damage and +minimum damage enchantments factored into weapon DPS?, damage modifiers are rolled into the overall DPS number. Is this also true for Increases Attack Speed modifiers?
I've read through various existing "attack speed" related questions - notably this one and this one and this one. However, I can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for. I have two similar DPS weapons, but one has a significantly higher attack speed. I know that the attack speed is factored into the DPS stat of the weapon, but I'm curious whether one of those weapons will benefit more from increased attack speed from other items and abilities. For example, given a 1000 DPS dagger and a 1000 DPS axe, will the dagger (faster) benefit more from increased attack speed (from gloves, Frenzy
This is probably a stupid question, but need to know if i had two weapons: A - DPS 100, attack speed 2 (these are all hyperthetical figures ofcourse) B - DPS 200. attack speed 1 Does it matter which i put in the left or right hand? I hear to put the higher speed weapon on the primary slot. Is this true and is there any other things to note when slotting weapons?
I was trying to do a little mathomancy earlier and calculate the DPS for my current weapon. However, I noticed that there isn't a defined statistic for attack speed in the game, only a single word describing a weapon's attack speed (Slow, Fast, etc). Does this mean it is not possible to easily calculate an item's DPS, or does the game have some sort of built in way of showing/determining DPS? I did notice the game showing me a Mace's weapon damage in red when the damage was significantly higher than the weapon damage of the Fists I was using. This may suggest that the game also considers

Possible Duplicate: Does weapon speed affect animation speed? All Demon Hunter's Rapid Fire skill says is Rapidly fire for 228% weapon damage as Physical Is this affected at all by the weapon's default fire rate? If the answer is no, it seems logical that a DH should favor damage over attack speed when upping his DPS.
