* Spoilers below of Dark Brotherhood questline *
In the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary;
... after the quest to kill the emperor completes, you find Nazir and kill the guy fighting him - you then decide that you must both escape the sanctuary quickly as it's burning - during which time the Night Mother speaks to you and tells you to join her as it's your only chance of salvation.
When I do this, it starts a cut-scene and the screen goes dark. You then hear what appears to sound like the building collapsing - at this point my Console freezes and requires a hard power-off/power-on. I retried 2 further times and it appears to be persistent and permanent.
Other than dropping everything that I'm carrying and trying again, is there much I can do to fix it? I was kinda hoping for a New-Vegas style "put on a cowboy hat and enter the strip!" style solution! :)
Ok - I ended up solving this myself by simply waiting 5-10 minutes, which (somehow) eventually kickstarts it back into action. During this time the Xbox dashboard is inaccessible, there's no control at all.
If you do more of the random Thieves' Guild radiant quests than needed there is at least some recognition: As you finish the additional jobs that Vex and Delvin give you, trophies of recovered items begin to fill the shelves too: Jeweled Candlestick appears after you complete 5 jobs. Ornate Drinking Horn appears after you complete 15 jobs. Golden Ship Model appears after you complete 25 jobs. and so on. I want to know if there is anything similar for the Dark Brotherhood.
I'm near the end of the Dark Brotherhood questline and during my last mission, things went pretty badly. Now I'm wondering if my decisions had anything to do with it. Here's the situation... his life. Thanks to her, the Imperials mass-murdered my sanctuary and burned it to the ground. That left me thinking that if I hadn't listened to her, things might be better off. Does making different choices change the outcome of the Dark Brotherhood questline?
doubts about the history line. I read that you can kill Astrid, but then you can join the Dark Brotherhood anyway, if you do not choose to start another history. Is that correct? My idea is to try to complete this questline but then kill 'em all. So I think I'll kill Astrid first. My questions are: If I kill Astrid can I really join the dark brotherhood and then once I've completed that questline destroy 'em all? If not, is there a way to do that? If I only choose to destroy them, can I get the Shadowmere? How? Is there a consequence for being a member of the dark brotherhood with any NPC
So, I've completed the Dark Brotherhood questline, but I neglected to retrieve the Stone of Barenziah from the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. Now when I try to enter the Sanctuary it just glitches in the loading screen every time. I need the stone to complete the "No Stone Unturned" quest. Is there a way I can get the stone another way? Or can I enter the Sanctuary without it glitching?
So I had the female dark brotherhood initiat as my follower I told her to wait and now I've forgotten where she is. I've waited and I've slept I be done everything... But my question is; if I activate the 'honor thy family' quest will that make her come back? All answers are wanted and I'm on ps3 so PC console commands will do me no good... Thanks
I am close to finishing the "To Kill an Empire" mission in Skyrim. I learned that after this mission... ...most of the members of the Brotherhood will be slain. Just recently, I learned some info that caught my attention that says "Subsequently, Gabriella is killed during the Penitus Oculatus assault on the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary (You can extract her blood using Essence Extractor... thinking that should I postpone finishing this quest until after I complete the "Discerning the Transmundane" mission? Is there any implication or negative effect if I finish the Brotherhood mission
While following a quest, I ended in Mzulft where I found the Dwarven Storageroom. Playing as a garbage collector, I cleaned it all, including the Glowing Crystal Shard. Several hours later, after complete the Dawnguard Questline by killing Lord Harkon, I decided to do the sidequests and then I read the book The Aetherium Wars, however the misc quest Investigate the ruins of Arkngthamz did.... More search for possible solutions involving setstage and setquest console commands, I tried then all, with several different quest stages and nothing happen. Will I stay with this Steam
After you become champion of the arena in the House of Valor dlc questline, the guy who gave all the missions says you have so many challengers he put them on the exhibition board. However I cannot for the life of me find said board. Is he just saying this, or is there actually a board with these fights on them that I am missing? Note I am NOT talking about the battle board, the one directly next to him at the entrance to the arena.
Please be careful not to spoil anything, i'm coming into this game untainted. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this game had an interesting combat mechanic You can kill a character permanently for one battle of power. At first, I was intending to do a good guy/pacifist run, as is my norm. NOPE. It's battle number 4 or 5 (Mission is to kill Edward at the guillotine) and I am... the enemies to get harder... I was expecting that it only meant I didn't get items. The worse you are doing, the harder the enemies get and the fewer items. Game design at its best. So I guess I have
