I've just tried installing the Adventures of Shuggy demo on Steam, but unfortunately it crashes immediately after launch with the message
Shuggy has stopped working
Here's a screenshot of how the crash looks like:
Upon examining Windows event viewer logs, I see that a .NET runtime error was reported:
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Info: System.IO.FileNotFoundException
My usual approach for launch errors of Steam games, validating the local file integrity, didn't help. Does anyone know how to address this issue? System is Windows 7 64-bit.
I had the same issue, and installing the redistributables from the install directory fixed it for me.
Every time I log in to Minecraft, after recently downloading it onto my desktop, I notice that a couple of seconds in, if not straight away, the program freezes and closes. The following message appears: A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x000084c1, pid=1508, tid=1220 JRE version: 6.0_27-b07 Java VM: Java.../crash.jsp The crash happened outside the Java Virtual Machine in native code. See problematic frame for where to report the bug. It then displays information on threads, etc. How do I fix this?
I have just bought Dishonored yesterday and it worked fine, but now sometimes when I open a door that goes to a different area a box pops up and says Dishonored has stopped working. The game then closes and when I start it up again it erases my last autosave. There is no place where it has happened every time but frequently it is when I've been detected and running from guards. The text of the error message says: Dishonored stopped working Search for a solution online Close program Debug program
. When I got malwarebytes my minecraft stopped working. I have AT&T u-verse and my computer [WAS] port-forwarded for my server, I unport-forwarded it to see if it would fix the problem, but it didn't...: java.net.SocketException: Unrecognized Windows Sockets error: 10106: create Downloading: https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/launcher/launcher.pack.lzma (try 2/10) Exception: java.net.SocketException: Unrecognized Windows Sockets error: 10106: create Downloading: https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/launcher/launcher.pack.lzma (try 3/10) Exception: java.net.SocketException
My PC is running Windows 7. I tried installing Steam. I downloaded the program. When I attempt to run it, it loads about half way and gives me an error message: Steam.exe (main exception): ERROR delete of Steam.exe failed, Win32 Error 5 "Access is denied" I have no idea why this would happen and cannot find any answers anywhere online or among my friends or colleagues. I've never had any problems with Steam before. I would greatly appreciate any help or advice given.
I'm having trouble with Bit.Trip Runner on my laptop, installed using Steam. I try to open the game, it tries to do its "initial install", then thinks for a moment with a black screen, before failing with the Windows error runner.exe has stopped working. (So useful!) I've asked a friend of mine to try loading the game, and it's working for him, so it appears to just be me. It's also worked... directory with the latest versions Running all Windows Updates I could find None of which seems to have made the slightest bit of difference. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there some magic
I've been playing Fallout 3 GOTY edition (via Steam). So far the game has been relatively well-behaved - good performance, and only an occasional crash (like once every 3 hours, which is something I can live with). However, in the recent hour or so it has became worse; in particular, every time I open a container the game freezes for around a second, and crashing becomes much more frequent... throughout the rest of game (though I do carry more weapons and less armor than what I used to). Is this a known issue? Any idea how to solve this problem? System is Windows 7 64-bit, 4 GB RAM, Core 2
After installing Wall-E, when I first opened Wall-E.exe, an error came up, "The Referenced Memory At 0x... . The Memory Could Not Be Read.". After that I tried to open it again, and got another error, "Disney Pixar Wall-E Has Stopped Working". Now when I open the game, the second error is what I get. How can I fix this?
So I copied Battlefield 2 Project Reality off of my brother's machine (where it works perfectly) and I can play for about half an hour most times but then it'll crash. Windows just shows me the standard uselessness of the AppCrash event... Going into the Event Log, I see the following error logged just before the AppCrash: Faulting application name: prbf2.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4a8d6629 Faulting module name: Memory.dll, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x497ec791 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00001a65 Faulting process id: 0x15b4 Faulting application
. Eventually Windows tells me "Sid Meier's Civilization 4: Beyond the Sword has stopped working." System information: I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and have over 4GB of RAM still available when the crash occurs. Here is the error text displayed when I show the problem details: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: Civ4BeyondSword.exe Application Version: 184.108.40.206 Application Timestamp: 48317e8a Fault Module Name: CvGameCoreDLL.dll Fault Module Version: 220.127.116.11 Fault Module Timestamp: 5105a233 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception
