Minecraft 1.8.2 is coming out in a few days and they said there will be NPC villages, strongholds etc. I built a massive city on the Xbox and I really want it to have villages, strongholds and all the new features. Is there any way I can keep my world and play creative mode and have villages and strongholds in the same world?
Until the update is released, it's not 100% certain, but probably (sadly) no, you cannot.
You will get access to many of the new features, such as Endermen, enchanting, creative mode, etc. But probably not the terrain-related features you mention, such as Strongholds and Abandoned Mineshafts.
The reason is that these features are implemented by changing the terrain-generation algorithm. On the PC version, this means that new terrain features only appear in new chunks, generated after the update is released. But in the XBox version, worlds are generated all at once, on world initialization.
As Omokoii's answer to this question suggests, you can use MC Edit to delete existing chunks in an old save so that, once 1.8 is out, those chunks will be generated anew, and they should respect the new version's additional landscape and other world-building features, like villages and the new biome. However, Ullallulloo pointed out that random seeds will generate different worlds in 1.8 than they used to, so deleted chunks will not be recreated exactly as they were. Does that mean that new chunks will not line up seamlessly with old chunks? Just how abrupt will the transition from the old
I have replaced my Vanilla server with a Bukkit server and installed (only) 2 plugins: WorldEdit and WorldGuard. Existing villages are still there, but new Villages are not generated. I know this is the case because I used a village finder to find villages, and I know it works right because I tested it on Vanilla and it was tested out as accurate. But now when I use the village finder and visit... in a different pattern. (same seed, but different server) Temporarily, I added a 3rd plugin, so that I can make NPC Villages on-demand. Can you suggest one of these solutions? Replace my 3rd plugin
I recently figured out that you an create villages with lots of doors. I decided I would try this for myself and made a creative world and built this structure: I realized that there weren't any villages nearby so I spawned two in. Then my problem was that only one of the villagers would have the heart particles above it and they wouldn't breed. So, what am I doing wrong?
Possible Duplicate: Will new Minecraft features appear in existing worlds? I'm a bit confused about how updating works. I imagine the already existing chunks will remain the same but new ones may contain the witch's hut, or do I have to create a brand-new world? I'd hate to do that, I put weeks into my underwater fortress :)
When attempting the Divided Planet development, much of my work was preventing the villages from destroying each other due primarily from their greed from failed Great Projects. Now I am looking at the Mass Production development and wondering how I could prevent six villages once again from murdering each other. If I can control when villages start their great projects, I could avoid the World Wars and stick to small land skirmishes. I have noticed that if I leave a village with very little, they tend not to start a great project even if they have an upgraded project. What causes a village
In Minecraft beta, normal strongholds only spawned within a certain distance of 0,0, so they would never appear in a world which was explored beyond that radius. In Minecraft 1.0, do nether strongholds have a limit like this, or will they appear at any distance? Can you keep exploring and find unlimited nether strongholds?
Possible Duplicate: How can I find my World's Strongholds? Is there any reliable tool for determining the locations of Fortresses and Nether fortresses in Minecraft? We migrated our server to the latest version of Bukkit. Since we have quite a bit of the map already revealed, I'm not sure whether we still have a chance of finding a fortress in the overworld. So instead of running around the map, I'd like to use a tool to find their locations and then check whether those chunks were already generated. Similarly, is there such a tool for Nether fortresses? (Even this isn't
Do all map features, e.g. villages and ruins, appear if difficulty=0 is set on my SMP Minecraft server?
The latest update to Minecraft: XBox 360 Edition added, among other things, Strongholds. In Minecraft for PC, only 3 strongholds appear per world (see the Stronghold wiki article). But XBox maps are limited and thus much much smaller than your average PC world. Therefore, has it been revealed how many Strongholds will be spawned in an XBox world?
