I was a big fan of the Rome series, and I just recently started back on the Total War series again, by picking up FoTS with Shogun 2. I'm not interested in the campaign or anything, I just want to fight in quick skirmish matches with online players. Does Shogun 2 not support that? (I don't want to go through the lengthy Avatar setup, and I wasn't interested in the multiplayer campaigns. I'm literally just looking for some quick matches, and I wasn't seeing it from the main screen.)
I'm sure quick matches are supported somewhere, but I can't find them! Any help would be appreciated!
Unfortunately, match-making only works for Avatar conquest mode. You can still got into battle-list and join or create so called "classical" battles, but majority of players stick to Avatar mode.
I am about to get an XBox 360, and am interested in the HD Movies service that comes with it (Zune Movies, I think). It wasn't quite clear to me from the XBox website whether movies were downloaded to the Xbox's harddrive, or were streamed. While my ADSL is pretty quick, I'm not convinced that it's up to the job of streaming HD content. So, can movies be downloaded to the XBox's harddrive before viewing, or is streaming the only option? I'm in France, by the way - I don't know if that makes any difference?
I've had a few matches recently (Sabotage) recently where I ended with a greater than 5:1 Kill/Death ratio. The Star Player challenge is unlocked, but neither match completed it. The actual numbers were 2:0 in the first match (didn't get Flawless, I'm assuming because the game was too quick) and 1:0 in the second match (got Flawless - game was longer than the first but still pretty quick). Is there minimum threshold of time and/or number of kills that you need to actually complete the challenge? Is it limited to specific game types? The text itself simply says 5:1 and doesn't specify any
I have just bought Skylanders for my son's birthday tomorrow. Just been informed he's got a friend coming around, and they are likely to want to play Skylanders in 2 player mode. I have two Wii plus controllers, but only one nunchuck. Do both players need a nunchuck, or can I get away with just one? I'm guessing I need two, but a quick answer may save me a midnight trip to the local supermarket.
What are some of the quickest ways to build momentum towards a signature move? Do you have to vary your attacks or anything? A series of strikes will build it up but it just seems to take forever compared to some videos I've seen of matches.
I've been playing (and loving) Mass Effect 2 as Femshep, and I just finished the excellent Shadow Broker DLC. Here's my problem: I romanced Liara in ME1, but in ME2 she wasn't around, so I started... us?" Is Liara a valid love interest in ME2? If so, could telling her that I want to get back together ruin things with me and Kelly (especially in regard to ME3)? Right now I value my relationship with Kelly more, so I don't want to jepordize that by saying to Liara that I'm still interested... But I'm also intrigued by the effects of having Liara "on the hook" in ME3. Will reaffirming things
I'm thinking of having a small Wesnoth tournament with some friends (maybe 8 or 9 ish people) and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for the format? Everyone in free-for-all isn't very exciting, and a single team match isn't really a great show of skill. What do you think? Perhaps a series of 3-player matches with a knock out system? Any and all suggestions welcome and considered!
In the total war series, specifically Rome and Shogun Total war 2, you can scroll/rotate the map by moving the mouse cursor to the edge of the screen. This works fine on a single monitor, but I have two monitors setup. When I move the mouse to the edge of the screen the game does not seem to detect this and as a consequence the map does not scroll/rotate. Is there a way to remedy this, short of unplugging the second monitor?
I just bought Shadowrun from Games for Windows, and I've had this game for Xbox 360 for a long time now. I'm trying to get the achievement for playing 100 matches as each class and I was wondering if I had to play all 100 matches again on the PC or if a server keeps track of my previous amount of playtime from when I played it on the Xbox 360? Shadowrun is one of the few games where PC and Xbox 360 user can play cross-platform, so I can hope the stats transfer between the two.
In the Assassin's Creed multiplayer series, how would map DLCs affect my joining an online game? I can think of 3 possibilities: I get kicked out if the match changes to a DLC-only map. I cannot join matches hosted by DLC players, even if they are playing a non-DLC map currently. I can join a match that rotates to DLC-only maps, but matches started by myself won't be able to rotate to those maps. Being difficult enough as it is to find games to join, it would be irritating if map DLCs just reduce that selection because matches are hosted by DLC purchasers.
