I have rented a server that is out of date and I have tried restarting the server through a web interface. That did not update the server. I have access to the FTP and can edit and remove files on the server. I have tried to remove steam.inf and restarted the server but it didn't update it either. Running on Linux.
I should most likely contact Steam Support as well about this, but my hope is this will be an easy fix. My friends and I recently purchased Insurgency, so, in an attempt to get a server running, I downloaded SteamCMD, set the installation directory, and ran app_update 237410 -validate Unfortunately, for whatever reason, SteamCMD failed to complete the download and gave me an error Error! App '237410' state is 0x10502 after update job This was all done on my server machine which is currently running CentOS 6.5 64 bit. Does anyone know what would cause this error?

I have downloaded Counter Strike Global Offensive, but I don't know how to set up a server so that I can play with my friends who are in same network through a wifi router. In CS 1.6 there is a hlds file which I launch and then it successfully set up the server, but I cant find the hlds file in CS-GO. So does anyone know how to set up a server? I don't know whether it should be called dedicated server or anything else, I don't want to play online, I just want to play games with my friends who are in the same room with me.
My server's been having a lot of problems in 1.6.4. When I finally figured out what the problem was, I fixed my server. That was a day before 1.7.2 came out. When 1.7.2 came out, I updated my vanilla server to 1.7.2 and still no one, but me (localhost) can get on. I've - checked my firewall settings, - re-portforwarded, - Tried the .exe AND .jar server files they have on minecraft.net. What's the problem? and how do I fix it??
When I type in a server it always says, "host name is incorrect" and it says it cant reach the server, even though my conection is good. Every server I try says the same thing.
I have seen many times when joining a server, a message is shown to me like this: console: Welcome <user name>, say hi. Please visit abc.com How can I do the same thing for my server? It should be automatically done by the server.
So I'm trying to make a little lan server (or server with hamachi) and one of my friends can't join (other people have been able to though). I've been looking for solutions and I came upon one where it says to check on the server file. The thing is that my server program is not showing any info. So, is this a problem that prevents my one friend from joining? If so, how do I fix this? If it isn't the problem, what else might cause the problem? More Info: My computer is Windows 7 and my friend's is Windows 8 whenever he tries to connect it says "failed to connect to server" the server.exe
I was happily merrily playing Kingdoms of Amalur until a recent Origin update. This update reseted Amalur settings and saves. Strangly, I can see saves on my hard drive just fine: . How do I make Amalur see these saves?
