In Endless Space, trade routes are set up automatically once a new planet is available to trade with: you're at peace with a race and explore a new planet among that peaceful race, or you become at peace with a race that you were previously in Cold War with.
How does Endless Space decide which of your systems gets the new trade route, if multiple systems qualify for it? If one system's trading capabilities change, by building a new system improvement to give +20% trading effects, or assigning a hero who's good at trading, can that system steal trade routes from other systems in your empire? If you have a system that's fantastic at trading (lots of improvements, huge population and economy, etc.), but has used up all of its available trade routes, and you build an improvement that grants an additional trade route, will it steal a route from one of your less-trade-y systems and thus make you fantastically rich?
From what I've seen during play, your best system will trade with their best system. From there it works its way down until you run out of available systems, or they do.
When you add a new possible trade route or improve the trade bonus on a system, the game re-calculates the trade network. This means your systems can "steal" trade from a "lesser" system in your empire in the trade network.
The Automatons' racial ability of stacked production lets them store up to 5 turns' worth (7, with research) of production on a system without having it go to waste. This is in addition to the standard 1 turn of overproduction that any race can hold. I just get Civilization V BNW I'm trying to use the new international trade routes. In the description for the route I did just make it says I get 5 gold per turn. So let's say I have 500 gold in first turn, my gold per turn is 0 and my new international trade route says it will generate me +5 gold per turn. My problem is, in turn 2 I still have 500 gold, so I didn't get the +5 my international trade route should give me. Is international trade routes broken or I'm doing something wrong?
If I make an internal trade route within my empire, providing food or production to a distant city, does the provided food / production come from the host city? Or does the act of spending one of your limited trade routes in this way cause the material to poof out of thin air?
In Uplink, the later gateways have space for 3-4 security systems, but there's only two security systems available (motion sensor and self destruct). Having both security systems is useful so you can detect activity and nuke your gateway, but is there any advantage to having more than one of each type?

When you set up a new game in Civ V, it appears that there must always be at least one human player. I was wondering if it was possible to set up a game with no human players - the 10-year Civ II experiment got me interested to see what would happen if the same thing were attempted in Civ V, and the easiest way to do so would be to allow a game with all-CPU players to run by itself whilst I go to the pub*, and later observe the results. Eternal world peace or Gandhipocalypse? Is it possible to set up this kind of game? I will accept answers that require mods, as I don't believe
I've got a class 17 heavy gravity world in the system next to my home system that I would quite like to colonise before the AI does. However, it will take me 20 weeks to research heavy gravity colonization, and another 38 to research the advanced version of the tech. I know that if I colonise with only the first stage, then the planet will only got 50% of it's land space available, resulting in effectively a class 8 or 9 planet. However, if I later research the advanced version of the technology, do I get that lost space back? Or does the planet get permanently reduced?
