Does the ending change if I complete the Leviathan DLC?

  • Does the ending change if I complete the Leviathan DLC? Alex

In the course of the Leviathan DLC you learn some pretty important new facts about the reapers, namely that

they, or at least the Catalyst, were created by the Leviathan species, and subsequently rebelled and nearly destroyed their creators.

Does this knowledge affect the game ending at all? Are there more conversation options with the Catalyst, or does he/it offer up any additional information?

I would test this myself as I've just completed the DLC, but there are several hours of gameplay between this point and the end of the game.

  • Yes, there are more conversation options with the Catalyst if you have completed the Leviathan DLC. Other than that, it's the same.

I found this Youtube video which shows the final conversation with the Catalyst in more detail.

  • Bethesda games, sadly, have been going downhill with respect to playing past the ending quest: In Oblivion, you could play past the game's ending and even got a special piece of armor from it. How does Skyrim handle the ending mission in this respect?

  • I've played through Playthrough 1, went and killed the Leviathan in the Pirates DLC, played a bit of Playthrough 2 (1/4th of the way), then I went and beat the Pirates DLC on that playthrough. I was lvl 45, so the loot at the end of the DLC was of that lvl. After playing some more in normal Playthrough 2 (up to lvl 50), I decided I wanted better loot, so I went to farm the Leviathan chests again, but it is still lvl 45. How do I get it to scale up to me at lvl 50?

I have checked the Galaxy map for any markers and all that is left on my map is the final mission and the remainder of the Leviathan DLC: I have also tried visiting Aria on the Citadel, but she just provides the normal conversational options from pre-DLC. • In Leviathan DLC, on Despoina how do you get past the Brute attack and still pick up power cells from Cortez? I tried running all over the place to get to Cortez, but died as many times. I am in my final push to get to Leviathan, just unable to get to Cortez. I tried killing all the enemies from cover, but the waves never end. Normally in these situations, there is a gun available that can help with the fight. But I have not found such gun, and the enemies are kicking me where it hurts. So how to achieve my goal to get to the Leviathan?
