I am close to finishing the "To Kill an Empire" mission in Skyrim. I learned that after this mission...
...most of the members of the Brotherhood will be slain. Just recently, I learned some info that caught my attention that says "Subsequently, Gabriella is killed during the Penitus Oculatus assault on the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary (You can extract her blood using Essence Extractor for Discerning the Transmundane quest). Her corpse can be found on the table where Festus Krex, Babette, and herself usually stayed."
It got me thinking that should I postpone finishing this quest until after I complete the "Discerning the Transmundane" mission? Is there any implication or negative effect if I finish the Brotherhood mission before I obtain the Essence Extractor?
For the quest, Discerning the Transmundane, you need to extract the blood of one of each of the elvish races (Altmer, Dunmer, Orsimir, Falmer, Bosmer) - the note in the wiki is just to alert the player that Gabriella's blood can be extracted to fulfill the requirement of Dunmer blood.
You can harvest Dunmer blood from any dark elf in the game. It does not have to be Gabriella.
* Spoilers below of Dark Brotherhood questline * In the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary; ... after the quest to kill the emperor completes, you find Nazir and kill the guy fighting him - you then decide that you must both escape the sanctuary quickly as it's burning - during which time the Night Mother speaks to you and tells you to join her as it's your only chance of salvation. When I do this, it starts a cut-scene and the screen goes dark. You then hear what appears to sound like the building collapsing - at this point my Console freezes and requires a hard power-off/power-on. I retried
So I had the female dark brotherhood initiat as my follower I told her to wait and now I've forgotten where she is. I've waited and I've slept I be done everything... But my question is; if I activate the 'honor thy family' quest will that make her come back? All answers are wanted and I'm on ps3 so PC console commands will do me no good... Thanks
a busy signal). This is unlike in SR4, where homies can be asked to follow you almost anytime and anywhere even when you have an active mission in Steelport*, and even shortly after they were just dismissed or shortly after the homie / player character dies. I know that homies can't be called as a follower most of the time when you currently have a mission active. But even if I don't have any mission active, some homies' phones still give out a busy signal when called. I also know that there's a cooldown period before you can call a homie again to be a follower after they have been dismissed

When and where do I warn her? I only met her once (after the Palaven mission at the Citadel) as she hasn't emailed me yet. I currently just finished the Sur'Kesh mission.
I'm on the Dark Brotherhood 'Mourning Never Comes' quest, to kill Alain Dufont. I'm standing atop of the ledge looking down on him. According to TES wiki, you are supposed to be able to fire the Dwemer Ballista in order to kill him, but that doesn't work. When I fire off the explosive arrows, they hit the ground at his feet but nothing happens. Alain and his bandits don't even react to being hit and they take no damage. Has anyone encountered this bug?
On the quest where you get the Oghma Infinium book, I encountered a glitch that won't let me finish it, after transcribing the damn thing and returning the Lexicon to Septimus I was expecting... something to do with Dawnguard since on the vampire quests you go after that Elder Scroll, long story short and about 20 level ups later I killed Harkon, finished the vampire quests, went back to Septimus and still he will not give me the second part of the quest, this of course means no Oghma Infinium so... no level 81 and no using perk points unless I wanna grind till ten years from now and I
If you do more of the random Thieves' Guild radiant quests than needed there is at least some recognition: As you finish the additional jobs that Vex and Delvin give you, trophies of recovered items begin to fill the shelves too: Jeweled Candlestick appears after you complete 5 jobs. Ornate Drinking Horn appears after you complete 15 jobs. Golden Ship Model appears after you complete 25 jobs. and so on. I want to know if there is anything similar for the Dark Brotherhood.

In the quest, Retaking Thirsk, you need to help a group of Nords kill all the Rieklings in the Thirsk Mead Hall. While in the quest, The Chief of Thirsk Hall, you need to help the Rieklings in the Thirsk Mead Hall kill all of the aforementioned Nords. This means that I will have to choose a side. What are the advantages and disadvantages of siding with either the Nords or the Rieklings in these quests? The UESP wiki states that (from the Retaking Thirsk article): This quest has no rewards except making a blacksmith and a Heavy Armor trainer available[verification needed— see talk
